Eight children were killed in a shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana, early Sunday, according to local police, in what authorities described as a domestic-related incident.
Police said the victims were between one and 14 years old. The shooting took place at around 6am, Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith told reporters, adding that a total of 10 people were shot.
Officials said the scene was spread across three different locations, and investigations were still underway to piece together what happened.
The suspected gunman was later killed by police following a vehicle chase, Smith said.
