A police team probing the murder of young businessman Mir Raza Ali has prepared a list of 10 people and decided to summon them for questioning, media reports said, citing sources.

They said that the people on the list had allegedly lent money to Mir Raza. According to details, Mir Raza had allegedly borrowed more than Rs17.5 million from one person, while another person had lent him Rs500,000.

The reports said details of loans exceeding Rs50 million owed to 10 people in total had been compiled.

Investigators have decided to question all those included in the list, they said.

Mir Raza's body was found in Gulistan-e-Johar on July 29, 2026. The death was initially allegedly portrayed as a suicide. However, following protests and concerns raised by the police surgeon, the body was exhumed on August 8 and examined by an eight-member medical board, which prepared a report on the cause of death.

Following the new medical team's report, the government also changed the investigation team and formed a new team headed by DIG Aamir Farooqi. Two additional members were also included in the team following requests from Mir Raza's parents and lawyer.
