The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on Wednesday advised airlines to continue avoiding the airspace over Iran, Iraq and Lebanon due to ongoing security concerns in the region.
In a fresh advisory, EASA said airlines should remain cautious because of uncertainty over how long the ceasefire would hold and the risk of sudden escalation.
The agency extended its conflict-zone warning until July 8. It had earlier kept the advisory in place until July 1.
The warning comes despite the recent agreement between the United States and Iran, as both sides have continued to exchange occasional fire since the deal was signed.
