Google provides charities to Israeli army, Zionist groups: report

Google has been collecting pro-Israel charities from its employees across the world for supporting Israeli soldiers and Christian Zionist groups who are fighting in Gaza to reclaim the West Bank. 

Tech giant donated to a non-profit organisation named Friends of the Israeli Defence Forces (FIDF) and HaYovel, according to a report published in Middle East Eyes. 

The report highlighted that FIDF, a New York-based non-profit, directly supports Israeli soldiers. Amid the ongoing violence in Gaza, the organization reportedly facilitated a $34.5 million donation to aid Israeli military operations.

Google allows its employees to donate a portion of their salary to any cause they choose. These donations are then directed to Benevity, a corporate giving platform and one of Google's largest US customers.

The Google  matches employee donations, doubling the contributions to selected organizations. However, the platform has facilitated donations to pro-Israel groups.

The FIDF is a New York-based non-profit organisation that supports Israeli soldiers. Since the beginning of the Israeli military onslaught in Gaza, FIDF matched a $34.5 million donation in connection to support the Israeli army.

On the other hand, Google also contributed the charity amount to HaYovel, a Christian Zionist group based in Missouri. Google has been providing funds to the group since October 7 last year. It has brought $3.5 million worth of equipment to protect Israeli communities in the West Bank, the illegally occupied territory of Palestine.

Another platform that has been allowed for Google workers to donate is IsraelGives which enables funds to be sent to Israeli settlements and military groups operating in occupied territories.

Middle East Eye cited a spokesperson of the Google, who said, "For more than 15 years, we've given employees a credit to donate to a charity of their choosing at the end of each year. They can select from more than 200,000 eligible organizations around the world,"
