The Voice of Hind Rajab, a Gaza-set drama, has drawn the support of top Hollywood names, with Brad Pitt, Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Jonathan Glazer, and others joining as executive producers. The film is set to premiere at the 82nd Venice Film Festival on September 3.
The movie tells the harrowing story of six-year-old Hind Rajab, who was trapped alone in her family’s car after it was hit by Israeli fire.
Desperate and terrified, she tried for hours to reach Red Cross volunteers. Despite her pleas, Israeli forces fired multiple rounds at the vehicle, leaving her surrounded by the bodies of her loved ones.
While the Israeli military initially claimed a tank strike had targeted the area, international media investigations and multiple reports confirmed soldiers were on the scene when Hind was killed.
According to Al Jazeera, the car in which she spent her final hours was struck with 335 bullets.
The project is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania and produced by Nadim Cheikhrouha (Mime/Tanit Films), Odessa Rae (RaeFilm Studios), and James Wilson (JW Films).
