A former U.S. Army officer has made startling claims regarding a failed infiltration attempt by Israeli forces into Yemen, allegedly foiled with the assistance of Russian satellite technology.

In an interview on "Judging Freedom," hosted by Judge Napolitano, retired U.S. Colonel Douglas Macgregor discussed the incident, which purportedly resulted in the deaths of 70 Israeli special forces members.

Colonel Macgregor alleged that these Israeli operatives, accompanied by an undisclosed number of American mercenaries, attempted to penetrate Yemen's borders.

However, their movements were reportedly tracked by Russian satellites, which then shared the intelligence with Iranian forces. This information was subsequently passed on to the Houthi fighters in Yemen, a group known for their resilience and combat skills, whom Macgregor referred to as “tough hombres on the battlefield.”

According to Macgregor, the Houthis set up an ambush based on the provided intelligence and successfully killed the entire infiltration team.

He claimed that footage of the aftermath reveals that the operatives were predominantly Israeli, with some American mercenaries and possibly a few British contractors among them.

Macgregor emphasized the transformative impact of persistent surveillance in modern warfare, suggesting that such technology makes it increasingly difficult for forces to operate covertly without being detected.

He described the incident as a significant "wake-up call" for both Israel and the United States, underlining the importance of countering space-based reconnaissance and intelligence-gathering capabilities.

The retired colonel's comments come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, particularly following recent remarks by Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Nasrallah warned of inevitable retaliation against Israel for the killing of top military commanders from Hezbollah and Hamas, events that he claimed had crossed critical "red lines."

The claims made by Macgregor, if true, highlight the escalating risks and the high stakes involved in covert operations in such a contested environment.
