An Indian Air Force (IAF) Pilatus PC-7 trainer aircraft crashed in India's Tamil Nadu state on Friday.

According to Indian media, the aircraft crashed during a routine training mission in Chengalpattu district near Chennai. The pilot successfully ejected before the plane went down.

A video shared on social media showed debris scattered at the crash site, with local residents gathering around to observe.

This incident is part of a series of IAF aircraft crashes this year, including three involving Jaguar fighter jets.

Earlier, on 6 February, a twin-seater Mirage 2000 trainer jet of the Indian Air Force crashed in an agricultural field near Sunari village in Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh, during a routine training flight.

The aircraft had taken off from Gwalior air base, and both pilots ejected safely, sustaining minor injuries. They were subsequently airlifted to Gwalior for medical evaluation.
