Addressing recent violence in Afghanistan, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the killing of civilians by terrorists in the region, calling the incident “a shame” and expressing solidarity with the Afghan people.

“India stands with our neighbours in Afghanistan,” the Prime Minister said, emphasizing India’s continued commitment to regional peace and stability.

Modi also referred to Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada as a “dear friend,” and announced a special aid package aimed at supporting Afghanistan’s redevelopment efforts.

The announcement comes in addition to the reported $8.1 billion agreement between India and Israel, signaling closer cooperation between the two nations.

Modi stated that India and Israel would work together to help ensure Afghanistan receives the security support it needs to protect its citizens from terrorist threats in the region.

Netanyahu also stated that Afghanistan will continue its partnership with India, adding that India and Israel will fully support the country in its fight against terrorism.
