The Indian Army admitted on Saturday that Pakistan's retaliatory air strikes damaged defence installations and air bases.
Addressing a press conference with Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri in New Delhi, Indian Army officers Colonel Sofia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh stated that Pakistan targeted 26 locations with jets, missiles, and drones.
The Indian Army spokesperson told reporters that Pakistan attacked Indian air bases with high-speed missiles. The air base station in Punjab was also damaged in these attacks, and several other Indian bases were affected.
Ms Qureshi confirmed that airfields in Udhampur, Adampur, and Pathankot were damaged, and Pakistani fighter jets targeted Indian air bases.
She said that Pakistani forces used drones and long-range weapons, and while the attacks caused severe damage, she claimed that no location was completely destroyed.
According to the Times of India, Colonel Sofia Qureshi of the Indian Army’s Signal Corps admitted that Pakistan’s retaliatory attacks also damaged their assets and personnel at four air bases.
"Pakistan carried out air strikes at more than 26 locations and damaged our assets and personnel at air bases in Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, Bhuj, and Bathinda," Colonel Sofia Qureshi stated.
Colonel Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh claimed that Indian forces had ‘neutralised’ several threats from Pakistan.
Claiming to have damaged Pakistani installations, the Indian Foreign Secretary stated that Pakistan’s claims of inflicting significant damage on India were baseless.
Officials also dismissed Pakistan’s accusations of targeting the civilian population and denied the Indian attack on Afghanistan.
