Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has announced that his country is ready to offer temporary refuge to families displaced by the war in Gaza.

As reported by the French news agency AFP, the United Nations has stated that nearly 500,000 people have been displaced since Israel resumed its military operations in Gaza last month.

Prior to embarking on his Middle East tour — which includes visits to the UAE, Türkiye, Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan — President Prabowo Subianto declared, "We are ready to welcome our Palestinian brothers and sisters."

He further announced that Indonesia is prepared to dispatch planes to bring Palestinians to safety, estimating that around 1,000 individuals would be relocated in the first phase.

The President said that priority will be given to wounded Palestinians, traumatized individuals, and orphaned children.

Additionally, President Prabowo has directed his foreign minister to engage with Palestinian authorities and regional partners to facilitate the evacuation of orphans and the injured.

He assured that those brought to Indonesia will remain there until they fully recover, and their eventual return will be arranged in a safe and secure manner.
