Iran has executed a man convicted of spying for Israel by passing information about a nuclear scientist killed during the 12-day war with Israel in June.
The man, identified as Roozbeh Vadi, was found guilty of sharing information related to a nuclear scientist who was killed in Israeli airstrikes.
His death sentence, carried out by hanging, was upheld by Iran’s Supreme Court, the judiciary’s Mizan Online outlet said on Wednesday. The exact timeline of Vadi’s arrest and sentencing has not been disclosed.
Officials claimed that Vadi was recruited online by Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, and subsequently passed on confidential details. His execution is among several that have followed Iran’s pledge to swiftly prosecute people accused of aiding Israel during the hostilities.

The brief but intense conflict in June saw Israel launch a major aerial campaign targeting Iranian military and strategic sites, including locations tied to its nuclear programme.
Iranian authorities claim that dozens of nuclear scientists were killed, alongside senior military figures and civilians.
In the weeks following the fighting, Tehran announced a series of arrests linked to alleged espionage activities and collaborations with Mossad. Several of those convicted have since been executed.
