Iran’s Foreign Ministry has responded to recent remarks made by US President Donald Trump during his address to the Israeli Knesset, where he claimed that Washington had “destroyed” Tehran’s nuclear project and suggested that Iran should agree to a peace deal.

In a strongly worded statement, Iran branded the United States as the “main sponsor of terrorism” and dismissed the possibility of any peace agreement as long as Washington maintains a hostile stance toward the Iranian state and its people.

During his speech at the Knesset on Monday, Trump declared that he had “contained the most dangerous government in the world” and repeated his claims of having dismantled Iran’s nuclear facilities.

He further suggested that Iran might be in a weakened position following the US attack in June and therefore should consider signing a peace agreement.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the baseless accusations and irresponsible, shameful claims made by the US president regarding Iran, which were delivered on Monday in the Knesset of the Zionist regime and in the presence of mass murderers,” the statement read.

It continued, “The United States, as the largest generator of terrorism in the world and the supporter of the terrorist and genocidal Zionist regime, has no moral authority to accuse others.”

The ministry also held the US responsible for the assassination of high-ranking military commander Qasem Soleimani and his companions, emphasising that Soleimani had been combating terrorism spread by American-backed militant groups.

The statement condemned Trump’s comments on Iran’s nuclear program, asserting that his “boastful attitude” about attacks on Iranian facilities exposes the “joint crimes of the Israeli and US regimes.” It added that such statements reveal the depth of American hostility toward Tehran.

Iran further called on international courts and organisations to hold the United States accountable for its role in supporting Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza. The ministry said Washington continues to block UN resolutions and obstruct justice for Israeli officials accused of war crimes.

Concluding the statement, Iran stressed that through its continued support and arms supplies to Israel, the United States remains the biggest source of instability and insecurity in the region.
