Israeli settlers seize historic Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron

Israeli settlers have seized the historic Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron amid ongoing raids by occupation forces in the West Bank, which have displaced several Palestinian families from their homes.

The Israeli army has extended its military assault to multiple cities in the West Bank, under the pretext of targeting Palestinian armed groups.

Videos circulating on social media showed Jewish children and Israeli soldiers moving furniture and other items inside the mosque.

Earlier, the Israeli army allowed hundreds of Israeli settlers to organise a music festival at Hebron’s Al-Ibrahimi Mosque, a site revered by Muslims, where the remains of the Prophets Ibrahim, Ishaq, and Yaqub (AS) were laid to rest.

Musicians were seen playing loud music, displaying a blatant disregard for the sanctity of the historic place of worship.

While Muslims are barred from entering the mosque by the occupation army, Jewish settlers face no such restrictions.

The current offensive in the northern parts of the West Bank is the largest in two decades, with raids targeting Jenin, Tulkarem, Nablus, and Tubas.

The siege of a Palestinian refugee camp in Jenin has blocked access to aid for Palestinians in Gaza and confined people in the city to their homes.

Israeli bulldozers have been seen roaming the occupied West Bank cities, with towns completely shut down and streets empty of people.

A BBC report revealed that Israeli settlers are increasingly establishing outposts in the West Bank, despite these being illegal under international law.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, at least 20 Palestinians were killed by Israeli military operations in Tubas and Tulkarem.
