Pakistan has once again ranked among the least powerful passports globally, placing fourth from the bottom in the Henley Passport Index 2025.

According to the latest rankings released on Tuesday, Pakistani passport holders can access only 34 destinations without a prior visa.

The index, compiled using data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), covers 227 travel destinations worldwide and measures passport strength based on visa-free or visa-on-arrival access.

Afghanistan remained at the bottom of the list, followed by Syria and Iraq. Pakistan was ranked just above these countries.

At the top of the index, Singapore retained its position as the most powerful passport, granting visa-free access to 193 countries. Japan and South Korea followed closely in second place with access to 190 destinations. Germany, France, and Spain tied for third with 189 destinations.

The United Arab Emirates saw the most significant progress over the past decade, climbing 34 positions to reach 8th place with access to 184 countries. Meanwhile, traditional leaders like the United Kingdom and the United States continued their gradual decline. The UK now stands at 6th with 186 destinations, while the US has dropped to 10th.

India also recorded notable improvement, jumping eight spots to 77th position. Saudi Arabia climbed to 54th after gaining visa-free access to four additional countries.

The Henley Passport Index is widely regarded as a benchmark for global mobility, reflecting changes in international travel freedoms and diplomatic relations.
