US President Joe Biden has tested positive for Covid-19 amid the election campaign, confirmed White House on Wednesday.
According to the White House, Biden has suspended all political activities and quarantined himself.
Karine Jean-Pierre, Biden’s press secretary, said that the president was vaccinated and boosted after he had tested positive for Covid-19 twice before.
The 81-year-old Democrat spent the night visiting his supporters in Las Vegas and addressed them at the event, but following the confirmation of the virus, he cancelled a campaign speech later in the night.
White House said that President Biden has quarantined himself and will perform his duties during isolation.
“I will be isolating as I recover, and during this time, I will continue to work to get the job done for the American people,” Biden said in a post on X.
I tested positive for COVID-19 this afternoon, but I am feeling good and thank everyone for the well wishes.

It is pertinent to mention here that 2/3 majority of Democrats don’t want to see Biden in the presidential candidate race.
According to US media reports, two top leaders met Biden separately and expressed deep concerns over his candidacy.
