Sikhs for Justice and the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara Temple have inaugurated an “Embassy of Khalistan” in Surrey, British Columbia, marking a symbolic move in the pro-Khalistan independence campaign.

The facility, located within the gurdwara premises, bears a “Republic of Khalistan” sign. According to Canadian media reports, the provincial government of British Columbia has provided financial assistance for the building, including a recent grant of $150,000 for the installation of an elevator.

The announcement comes at a time when India and Canada are seeking to strengthen diplomatic relations, following recent tensions linked to the Khalistan movement and related political disputes.

Supporters of the move say the symbolic embassy is intended to highlight Sikh rights and the push for an independent Khalistan.

Indian authorities have consistently opposed such initiatives, calling them a threat to national sovereignty.
