Heavy rains coupled with thunderstorm and hailstorm hit parts of Saudi Arabia, including the holy city of Makkah and Madina on Monday.
Following the torrential downpours, water completely submerged roads and streets, disrupting the lives in Asir, Baha, Makkah and Madina, Jazan, Qassim, Jawf, Hail, Tabuk, Northern Borders, Riyadh and the Eastern Province.
Heavy rains also triggered urban flooding in the holy city of Madina.
According to The National Gulf, schools in several areas of Saudi Arabia switched to online classes after authorities warned of heavy rain and possible floods this week.
The publication said, quoting the General Directorate of Civil Defence, that most parts of the kingdom would experience moderate to torrential thundershowers, accompanied by strong winds, until Friday.
However, beautiful scenes were witnessed in the Holy Prophet's (PBUH) city when the mountains turned into a waterfall after downpours.
