Makkah’s mountains turned green following days of heavy rain and thunderstorms that began last week in Saudi Arabia, resulting in urban flooding.
The images showed Makkah's mountains blanketed in lush greenery, a sight that Muslims interpret as a sign of the approaching Day of Judgement.
Videos from Makkah showed pilgrims performing Umrah amidst torrential rain and lightning. In Madinah, streets were flooded, leaving cars stranded in the rainwater.

Thousands of workers were deployed to Masjid-Al-Haram and Masjid-e-Nabawi (PBUH) to monitor and address the weather conditions.
The country's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah issued guidelines to pilgrims performing pilgrimage at the Grand Mosque during the rainfall.
They were advised to avoid large groups of people, exercise caution on escalators and corridors, and obey the instructions of security staff.
The extreme weather conditions prompted Saudi authorities to issue precautionary guidelines to residents and visitors, urging them to avoid areas with standing water.
According to Arab News, the Saudi Red Crescent was on high alert to respond to severe weather conditions, as the National Centre for Meteorology forecasted more rain.
