Dr. Ahmed Karima, a professor of Comparative Jurisprudence at Egypt's Al-Azhar University, has stated that polygamy is a permissible act in Islam.

He emphasized that a wife should support her husband in taking a second wife to prevent him from engaging in immoral behavior.

Speaking on a satellite TV program, Dr. Karima asserted that every man has the right to marry more than once and does not need to justify his decision.

The Egyptian scholar clarified that polygamy is neither obligatory nor recommended, nor is it forbidden or discouraged; rather, it is simply an allowed practice under Islamic teachings

Earlier, host and actor Fiza Ali recently stirred controversy with her remarks on polygamy. In a bold statement during her Ramadan show, She emphasised that Islam has set specific conditions for such marriages, which cannot be overlooked or taken for granted.

Fiza Ali began by criticising feminists for failing to address the real issues faced by women.

She then directed her criticism toward men who marry more than one wife simultaneously, explaining that Islam ‘does not order polygamy’ but rather ‘permits it under certain conditions,’ particularly ‘to support women who are orphaned, poor, helpless, or divorced with children.’
