As US President Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race on Sunday, netizens criticised his policies regarding Israel’s war on Gaza, resulting in the devastating loss of human lives and infrastructure.

Many social media users took to social media platforms to label him as the "butcher of Gaza."

Biden was elected in 2020 after defeating Donald Trump, a victory that experts believed would amend the faults of his predecessor. However, Biden's historical support for foreign interventions, from the Iraq war to conflicts with Russia, has marked him as a warmonger.

In an interview, Biden proudly described himself as a Zionist and historically supported Israel.

His administration extended financial, intelligence, and military support to Israel despite widespread condemnation of Tel Aviv's military offensive against innocent civilians in Gaza.

Despite deadly airstrikes on humanitarian zones in the Palestinian enclave, the Biden administration refused to condemn Israeli war crimes and denied any signs of genocide.

This stance led to the resignation of at least eight US administration officials, with some accusing Biden of ignoring Israeli atrocities in Gaza.

Following his announcement to withdraw from the presidential race, Biden faced harsh criticism for his complicity in the killing of Palestinians.

Critics stated that his support for Israel during its eight-month military campaign would be his "bloody legacy".

The death toll since October 7 has risen to 38,983, with 89,727 wounded in Gaza, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

"Good riddance to a president who funded, armed, and wholeheartedly presided over a genocide," author Fatima Bhutto wrote on X.
