Online beggars will face three months jail and fine of 10,000 dirhams, warns Dubai Police

Dubai Police has warned residents about a rise in fraud related to online begging.
Police urged the public to remain cautious of professional beggars and scammers during Ramadan, advising that donations and Zakat should only be given through officially authorized charitable organizations.
Residents are also encouraged to immediately report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities.
Dubai Police further warned that those involved in online begging could face up to three months in jail and a fine of 10,000 dirhams.
According to officials, fraudsters often exploit people’s generosity during the holy month of Ramadan. The public has been advised not to respond to suspicious donation appeals circulating on websites and social media platforms.
