Pro-Palestinian activists broke into the highly secured Royal Air Force (RAF) Brize Norton in Oxfordshire and vandalised two fighter jets, and damaged air-to-air refuelling tankers in protest against the UK military’s support for Israeli military offensive in Gaza.
The British Prime Minister condemned the breach, calling it a “disgraceful act,” while the ministry of defence ordered a review of all military base security protocols. Officials confirmed that the incident did not disrupt ongoing operations.
A video shared online showed two Palestine Action activists at the base at night, with one riding a scooter while spray-painting the engine of a jet. The activists managed to escape the scene.
The targeted RAF base is considered a key strategic site for British air transport and refuelling operations, with regular flights to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus.

Reports have previously revealed that the UK provides reconnaissance support to Israel through surveillance flights over Gaza from its Cyprus base.

Palestine Action has maintained that Britain continues to aid Israel’s military efforts by allowing air surveillance operations over Gaza via RAF assets.
Despite the base’s robust security, which includes surveillance cameras, sensors, fences, and armed checkpoints, sources told the BBC that these measures failed to prevent the breach.
Thames Valley Police confirmed it had received reports of unauthorised access and criminal damage at the site.
“Inquiries are ongoing to locate and arrest those responsible,” said a police spokesperson.
Members ofboth the Labour and Conservative parties condemned the break-in and called for a full investigation into the security failure and the activists’ escape.
