Israeli cities in the south came under attack after the Palestinian resistance group Hamas launched a barrage of rockets from Gaza in response to the continued killing of Palestinians.
Several rockets struck the cities of Ashdod and Ashkelon, where warning sirens blared amid the attack. The Israeli military claimed it intercepted most of the projectiles.
At least three people were reported injured in the attacks, with vehicles damaged on the streets.
Following the assault, the Israeli military issued an evacuation order in Deir al-Balah, forcing Palestinians to flee under dire conditions.

Israel has continued its relentless assault on Gaza, which had persisted until December, when a fragile ceasefire took effect in January. However, the truce was violated by Israel on March 18.

Currently, Israel has displaced thousands of Palestinians, forcing them to leave refugee camps on foot. Many struggle to carry their belongings, while children and the elderly endure the physical toll of walking long distances.
Over 1,200 Palestinians have been killed since Israel violated the Gaza ceasefire on March 18, with casualties rising amid escalating airstrikes and ground assaults.
The Gaza Ministry of Health stated that at least 50,695 Palestinians have lost their lives and 115,338 injured in Israeli attacks since October 7, 2023.
