A critical shortage of medicines has emerged in Gaza, placing the lives of thousands of patients undergoing treatment in hospitals at serious risk.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, the acute lack of medicines has created major difficulties in treating patients, while shortages of laboratory testing materials and blood bank supplies have reached 59 per cent.

Doctors working in Gaza’s hospitals say they are facing extreme challenges in saving lives, as essential medicines required for patients’ recovery and treatment have completely run out.

Despite the ceasefire, the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza remains insufficient to meet urgent needs.

The Health Ministry has called for the immediate provision of medicines, laboratory testing equipment and blood bank supplies alongside humanitarian assistance.

Arab media reports that during the war, the Israeli military completely destroyed 34 hospitals and 125 health centres in Gaza.

Under the ceasefire agreement, six Palestinian prisoners were transferred from Israeli custody to a hospital in Deir al-Balah yesterday. More than 10,000 Palestinian prisoners remain detained in Israeli jails.
