Israel’s brutal siege of Jabalia has killed hundreds of Palestinians, with their bodies scattered among the rubble, becoming food for hungry stray dogs, according to emergency services in Gaza.

The Israeli army's ground assault in northern Gaza, ongoing for 13 days, has claimed the lives of at least 342 Palestinians, who were targeted in refugee camps, hospitals, and school shelters.

Gaza’s Emergency Services Chief, Fares Afana, said that many of the bodies were left in a horrific state due to animal attacks, creating challenges for the emergency workers to identify the deceased.

"Stray dogs, who are hungry, are eating these bodies in the streets…It makes it difficult for us to identify the bodies," he said.

Previously, during the IDF’s ground invasion in Rafah, a similar scene unfolded as stray dogs scavenged for food among corpses amidst the widespread hunger and mass slaughter of innocent Palestinians.

Afana further added that hunger in northern Gaza has reached a critical level, with animals feeding on human remains.

Around 400,000 people are trapped inside Jabalia, where occupation forces have relentlessly bombarded various areas on the pretext of targetting Hamas.

Northern Gaza is also experiencing severe starvation, as no aid carrying essential supplies has been able to enter the enclave since the start of October, according to the United Nations.

On October 14, an Israeli artillery attack on a UNRWA distribution centre killed at least 10 people who were waiting in line for food.

The overall Palestinian death toll since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza has reached at least 43,165 with more than 99,153 wounded. Thousands more remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
