Sydney beach attack: Heroic civilian Ahmed Al Ahmed apprehends gunman, saves lives

The identity of the courageous civilian who apprehended a gunman during the shooting at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, has been revealed.

According to Australian media, two individuals opened fire on civilians at Bondi Beach, killing 12 people and injuring around 30 others.

Australian police have classified the incident as an act of terrorism, reporting that one of the deceased was one of the shooters, while the other attacker was taken into custody.

Media reports state that one of the attackers was subdued by a civilian, who bravely risked his own life, disarmed the gunman, and saved multiple lives in the process.

The heroic civilian has been identified as Ahmed Al Ahmed, 43, a fruit shop owner in Sydney and a father of two.

During the attempt to control the attacker, Ahmed was shot twice in the arm but is currently receiving treatment in hospital, with authorities confirming that his condition is stable.
