US President Donald Trump abruptly ended an interview with NBC News after a heated exchange over his repeated claims of election fraud, which the interviewer challenged for lack of evidence.
The interview, conducted by NBC's "Meet the Press" host Kristen Welker on a farm in Wisconsin and aired on Sunday, covered a range of issues including Iran, nuclear weapons and domestic politics.
Throughout the interview, heavy rain and thunderstorms repeatedly disrupted the conversation, with loud weather conditions affecting audio quality. Despite the interruptions, Trump insisted on continuing the discussion.
As the interview progressed, tensions rose when Welker questioned Trump's proposed taxpayer-funded programme aimed at compensating individuals he believes were unfairly targeted during former president Joe Biden's administration.
Trump criticised media organisations and reiterated his long-standing claims that the 2020 US presidential election had been "rigged". He also alleged irregularities in a recent California primary election.
