US President Donald Trump has informed Iran that he does not intend to carry out a military attack and has urged Tehran to exercise restraint, claimed Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam.

Moghadam made the remarks during a visit to the National Rahmatul-lil-Alameen Authority, where he met the authority’s chairman, Khurshid Ahmad Nadeem.

According to Moghadam, Trump conveyed that he did not want war and requested that Iran refrain from targeting US interests in the region.

The envoy also commented on the internal situation in Iran, stating that citizens have a legitimate right to protest. He said the Iranian government has engaged in dialogue with demonstrators to address their concerns.

However, Moghadam alleged that armed groups were responsible for violence during the unrest, claiming that these groups carried out killings and also attacked mosques.

The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing concerns over the risk of further escalation involving Iran and the United States.

Protests have taken place across Iran in a movement sparked by anger over the rising cost of living, leading to authorities imposing internet restrictions.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to intervene in support of protesters.
