US President Donald Trump’s supporter, Jake Lang, who is also a far right Republican Senate candidate, tried to burn a copy of the Holy Quran during an anti-Islam rally in Dearborn, Michigan, a city with a significant Muslim-American population. A Muslim man intervened to stop the extremist politician from burning the holy book.
A video shared on social media by independent journalist Brendan Gutenschwager showed Lang holding what appeared to be a canister of lighter fluid as he threw the Holy Quran to the ground. A counter-protester grabbed the book before it could be set on fire.
The counter-protester firmly told Lang, “Don't burn it, man. You can't burn it,” in an effort to prevent the act. Despite this, Lang remained undeterred and declared that he had another copy of the Quran.
A man attempted to set a copy of the Quran on fire during an anti-Islam demonstration in Dearborn, Michigan — a city home to one of the largest Muslim populations in the US. Police intervened swiftly, and a bystander stepped in before the act could escalate.

He then slammed a package of bacon on the holy book, after which the Muslim man warned him to show respect for the sacred text.
The situation quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, with several individuals attempting to wrest the book away from Lang. The struggle continued until someone ultimately carried the Quran away from the scene.
Jake Lang has often displayed Islamophobic tendencies. He was pardoned by former President Trump after being found involved in the storming of the US Capitol in 2021.
