The United States (US) embassy in India has said that it will deny all tourist visa applications if the counselor believes that the main aim behind the visit is to give birth in the country and secure citizenship.
The move, as reported by the news, adds to uncertainty for Indian visa holders, meaning that the US embassy’s decision to deny tourist visas intended for “birth tourism” is creating additional worry or uncertainty among Indian citizens applying for US visas.
Whereas the embassy has rescheduled visa interviews for some applicants.
The administration wants the H-1B visas to go to highly skilled, well-paid foreign workers to reduce competition for lower-paying jobs for Americans.
However, US President Donald Trump has launched a new scheme for all the wealthy foreigners to buy an immigration card worth $1m.
The card will benefit the buyers in all paths of legal citizenship for all qualified and verified people.
This card was launched just after Washington intensified its immigration crackdown, including rising work visas and deporting undocumented migrants. The gold card is the Trump version of a counterbalance to that.
