“We will occupy Gaza and settle there,” says Israeli minister after attack on Nuseirat refugee camp

Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, has said that the only solution to the ongoing crisis in Gaza lies in Israelis occupying the land and settling there.

Ben Gvir, known for his anti-Palestinian views, stated that establishing Israeli settlements in Gaza and enforcing the “voluntary migration” of the Muslim population to other countries could help resolve the crisis.

A video of Ben Gvir making these statements was shared on his official Telegram account and has since been widely circulated on social media, drawing staunch criticism from pro-Palestinian supporters who denounced his remarks as outrageous and provocative.

Earlier, the Israeli minister participated in the Flag March on Wednesday in occupied Jerusalem, where he made inflammatory comments. 

“We send a message to Hamas. Jerusalem is ours. Damascus Gate is ours. The Temple Mount is ours,” he said at the march.

According to the United Nations, 1.9 million people in Gaza have been displaced since October 7, when Israel began issuing evacuation orders for various areas while continuing to bomb refugee camps in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli forces have been pushing Palestinians into designated humanitarian zones before targeting these areas under the pretext of attacking Hamas leaders.

On Thursday, IDF killed at least 40 Palestinians in airstrikes on a UNRWA school in the Nuseirat refugee camp, which was sheltering innocent civilians.

Since the onset of Israel’s war on Gaza on October 7, the military onslaught has resulted in the deaths of at least 36,586 people and left 83,074 wounded.

In Israel, Hamas’s attacks have killed at least 1,139 people.
