US President Donald Trump, known for his blunt remarks, created a media frenzy during his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House. During a press conference, Trump made headlines with a sharp response to a reporter’s question about what would happen if Russia failed to honor a potential ceasefire in Ukraine.

Vice President JD Vance repeated the journalist’s question for Trump, saying, “She is asking what if Russia breaks the ceasefire.”

Trump bluntly responded, “What, if anything? What if the bomb drops on your head right now? OK, what if they broke it? I don't know, they broke it with Biden because Biden, they didn't respect him. They didn't respect Obama. They respect me.”

He continued, referencing his past dealings with Russian President Vladimir Putin: “Putin went through a hell of a lot with me. He went through a phony witch hunt …” Trump suggested that while Russia might have disregarded deals with the Obama or Biden administrations, his leadership commanded respect.

Turning to Zelensky, Trump asserted that US support had enabled him to act as a "tough guy" and implied that without American backing, he would be in a weak position. "You're not the one without US support," Trump remarked, stressing that the Ukrainian president had no choice but to agree to a deal.

Trump then issued a direct warning to Zelensky, suggesting that if he refused to sign an agreement, US support would be withdrawn, leaving Ukraine to fight the war alone.

“But you don't have the cards. Once we sign that deal, you're in a much better position, but you're not acting at all thankful. And that's not a nice thing. I'll be honest. That's not a nice thing,” Trump said.
