Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, who engaged in a heated exchange with US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, also faced a bizarre question from a White House reporter about his choice of attire for the visit.

US military support for Ukraine hangs in the balance after a meeting between Trump and Zelensky aimed at securing a mineral deal ended in a disaster.

The meeting took a dramatic turn when President Trump accused Zelensky of potentially triggering the third world war. Amidst the charged atmosphere, Ukrainian President Zelensky faced an unexpected query from a journalist regarding his choice of attire for the White House visit.

During the high-profile meeting, journalist Brian Glenn who was present at the Oval Office asked Zelensky why he was not wearing a suit, suggesting that his outfit showed a lack of respect for the "dignity of the office."

“Why don't you wear a suit? Do you own a suit? A lot of Americans have a problem with you not respecting the dignity of the office,” Glenn inquired.

Zelensky, who wore combat gear during his meeting with the Trump, responded by saying he would wear a suit once the war in Ukraine is over.

“I will wear a costume after this war will finish. Maybe something like yours, maybe something better, I don't know. We will see. Maybe something cheaper,” Zelensky replied.

However, another verbal spat began with Donald Trump who believed that President Zelensky could not win the war with Russia on its own.

The confrontation led to the cancellation of their joint press conference, and the crucial agreement could not be signed.

The brawl occurred at a crucial time, as Ukraine continues to rely heavily on US support in its conflict with Russia. With the future of US military aid uncertain, Ukraine's ability to defend itself against Russian aggression hangs precariously in the balance.

Soon after that, Trump’s White House issued a statement which hinted that the agreement could not reach success.

“I have determined that President Zelensky is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations,” he said.

“I don’t want an advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace.”

The relationship between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky has been tense since Trump's previous term, stemming from Trump's impeachment over allegations of pressuring Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden's son Hunter's business dealings in Ukraine.

Although Trump wasn't convicted or removed from office, the incident created a rift between the two leaders. This strained relationship has continued, with a recent meeting between the two ending in a heated argument.
