A female reporter from a local TV channel has received flak on social media for risking her life to report from the knee-high rainwater in Lahore.
In the video, the journalist was seen half-submerged in rainwater, holding a microphone and talking about the rain situation.
Social media users have slammed her for taking unnecessary risks, with some calling it "irresponsible" and "sensationalist" reporting.
A day earlier, the heavy rains in Lahore, which broke a record of 44 years, caused widespread flooding and damage to properties in the provincial capital.
Over 350mm of rain was recorded in the airport area, and shops, houses, and other business centers were inundated by 3 to 4 feet of rainwater in the metropolis.
The flooding also affected hospitals, with water entering the premises and causing disruptions.
The female reporter also risked her life to report the deteriorating condition of Hameed Latif Hospital's parking.
The viral video of the female reporter has sparked a debate about the ethics of reporting in dangerous conditions, with many questioning whether the risk to her life was worth the dramatic footage.
The incident has also raised concerns about the safety of journalists and the pressure from media channels to get "sensational footage and some views".
