Gold prices in Pakistan continued their upward trend on Thursday, mirroring the rise in international rates.

The price of gold per tola increased by Rs1,000, reaching an all-time high of Rs309,000 in the local market.

Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold rose by Rs857, reaching Rs264,917, according to the rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

On Wednesday, gold prices had surged by Rs3,800, settling at the previous record high of Rs308,000 per tola.

International gold prices also saw an increase on Thursday, with the rate reaching $2,953 per ounce, up by $9 during the day, as reported by APGJSA. The international price includes a premium of $20.

In addition, the price of silver rose by Rs28, settling at Rs3,468 per tola on Thursday.

On the global front, gold prices held steady near record highs, driven by concerns over US President Donald Trump’s tariff plans, which have heightened fears of higher inflation and a potential global trade war.

Since his inauguration, Trump has imposed a 10% tariff on Chinese imports and a 25% tariff on steel and aluminum.

On Wednesday, he announced plans to introduce tariffs on additional items, including lumber, cars, semiconductors, and pharmaceuticals, within the next month or sooner.
