The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly has approved the budget for the financial year 2026–27.

Law and Finance Minister Aftab Alam and other cabinet members presented separate motions for 66 demands for grants before the provincial assembly.

The house also approved amendments to the Annual Development Programme (ADP), including a grant of Rs6.279 billion for the assembly itself.

According to budget details, Rs14.73 billion were allocated for the Finance Department, while the Home Department received over Rs4.56 billion. The police were allocated Rs138 billion.

For higher education, Rs52.461 billion were approved, while the health sector received Rs262.62 billion under various demands for grants. Other allocations included Rs7.77 billion for the Communications Department, Rs11.27 billion for irrigation, Rs2.27 billion for mineral development, and Rs1.24 billion for population welfare.
