Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a clarification regarding reports of a possible fuel shortage in the country.

In an official statement, the OGRA spokesperson confirmed that there is no fuel shortage anywhere in Pakistan, and that the situation is completely under control.

The spokesperson explained that while there had been some delays in the clearance of imported petroleum shipments, the matter has now been fully resolved.

OGRA further stated that Pakistan State Oil’s (PSO) diesel vessel and Wafi’s petrol vessel have both been cleared, and fuel supply across the country continues as normal.

“All business and industrial activities are operating smoothly,” the spokesperson added.

It is pertinent to mention that earlier media reports had claimed a potential disruption in fuel supplies due to delays in clearing petroleum products at Karachi Port, allegedly caused by the implementation of the Sindh Infrastructure Development Cess.

According to reports, the Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC) had written an urgent letter to the Chief Minister of Sindh, warning that any further delay in customs clearance could affect the national fuel supply chain.

However, OGRA has categorically denied any such risk, assuring the public that fuel availability remains stable nationwide.
