Recently, the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) lowered the prices of sugar nationwide last Thursday.

In the past, sugar was priced at 153 rupees per kilogram at the Utility Stores.
The corporation kindly asked sugar mills to adjust the sugar price downwards, prompting the sugar mill owners to gracefully agree to reduce it by 17 rupees per kilogram.
Upon receiving the rebate from the mills, the Utility Stores Corporation proceeded to pass on the savings to consumers.
The Utility Stores acquired 12,000 metric tons of sugar at a rate of 137 rupees per kilogram.
Nevertheless, following the inclusion of extra expenses, the company ultimately disbursed approximately 152 rupees for each kilogram of sugar.
