The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced a temporary ban on the screening of Indian films in cinemas across Pakistan during the upcoming Eidul Adha holidays.

According to an official notification issued, the restriction applies to all Indian films, including censored Indian Punjabi films, which will not be allowed to screen in any cinema across the country during the specified period.

“All cinema houses have been formally informed of this decision,” the ministry stated.

The ban will remain in effect for two days before Eid and continue for two weeks after the Eid holidays, ensuring local productions receive greater visibility and box office potential during this festive season.

This measure, typically implemented around major religious holidays, is seen as a way to promote Pakistani films and support the local entertainment industry during peak viewing periods.
