Female doctors provide better treatment as compared to male doctors as the patients treated by women physicians have a lower mortality rate, revealed a study conducted by Annals of Internal Medicine.
Research findings also indicated that the benefits women patients received during their treatments from female physicians are larger than male patients.
It added that women also understand the diseases and complications of women correctly, which might be another reason behind the low mortality rate.
The researchers collected the data of 776,927 patients from 2016 to 2019, of which 458, 108 female and 318, 819 were male patients, and 145,465 (31.1%) and 97,500 (30.6%), respectively, were treated by women doctors.
The findings revealed that both female and male patients had a lower mortality.
However, the research also stated that the number of women who died of the disease is greater than men, "because of gynecological diseases in female patients".
As per the result, patients treated by male doctors had a higher mortality than women doctor patients.
The study stated that female doctors provide timely and better treatment than male doctors.
