Actress Anushay Abbasi has revealed that the excessive affection shown by actors playing fatherly roles on set sometimes becomes uncomfortable for her.

Speaking on a program, the actress shared on-set experiences, Anushay said she often had to perform romantic scenes with actors she did not personally like. “Sometimes even after the director said ‘cut,’ the actor wouldn’t let go of my hand, and I had to remind them the scene was over,” she recalled, adding that she occasionally had to ask co-stars to maintain distance after filming.

The actress agreed with the host Ushna Shah observation that, more than male leads, actors cast in father roles could sometimes be overly compassionate. In her view, this excessive affection could itself create discomfort on set.

Anoushay opened up about her life and career. She recalled the most difficult phase of her life, her mother’s illness and death.

She revealed that she was already working on a project during that time. On the day her mother died, she was on set when she received an emergency call from home.

She added that even after her mother’s death, production calls continued. Out of professional commitment, she and her sister, actress Javeria Abbasi, went back to set to finish their scenes.

“It was extremely painful because I was very close to my mother, and my whole world revolved around her,” she said, explaining why she took a long break from projects afterward to cope with the trauma.
