Mumbai police have filed a case after Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan received a threatening phone call demandingINR 5 million and warned that he would “harm” the Bollywood actor if the money wasn’t paid.
The call, made on November 5 at 1:20 PM, was allegedly from a young man named Faizan, a resident of Raipur, Chhattisgarh, who threatened to harm Khan unless INR 5 million was paid.
The call was traced to Faizan’s active phone number, and following the threat, Mumbai police dispatched a team to Raipur to investigate the matter.
This is not the first time Khan has faced threats. Last October, following the success of his films Pathaan and Jawan, Khan received a death threat, leading to an upgrade in his security to a Y+ level, which includes six armed guards instead of the previous two.
Celebrity security has become a significant concern in India, with high-profile cases involving threats against other stars.
Earlier this year, two members of the notorious Bishnoi gang were arrested for firing shots at the home of actor Salman Khan in retaliation for the killing of two antelopes by the actor in 1998.
The gang, led by Lawrence Bishnoi, has a long history of extortion and violence, including the murder of rapper Sidhu Moose Wala in 2022. Bishnoi has previously threatened Salman Khan with death.
