Known for his musical prowess that resonated beyond borders, music icon Atif Aslam expressed gratitude to God and shared how he remained steadfast in his principles while navigating the heights of fame.
In a recent interview with music channel Sufiscore, Atif Aslam spoke candidly about his profound connection to music and his careful approach to selecting lyrics, avoiding those that might conflict with his faith.
He was asked whether he had ever declined lucrative offers that clashed with his professional principles.
The ‘Aadat’ vocalist replied, "It has happened on multiple occasions. It wasn't just related to my profession, but even when something clashed with my personality, I've never compromised on my principles."
“If poetry includes words that disrespect God's sanctity, it's wrong. If I ever sang such a song unknowingly and later realised it, I apologised to God,” the crooner said.
Weighing in on the artificial enhancement of vocals by singers, he acknowledged that autotune existed even in his time, but “it has now become an instrument of overnight fame.”
The ‘Doorie’ vocalist observed that those seeking such fame without efforts cannot sustain and 'true success is built upon hard work'.
After a seven-year hiatus, Atif Aslam is set to make his Bollywood comeback with a song in the upcoming Bollywood romantic film "Love Story of 90's".
