Legendary singer Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan took aim at the acclaim comedian-singer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan for mocking singing legends.

In a recent interview, Shafqat Amanat Ali offered his thoughts on Chahat Fateh Ali Khan's rise to fame, who gained popularity by impersonating as a qawwal and imitating the legendary singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

His recent song, 'Bado Badi,' went viral on social media and garnered 28 million views on YouTube before being removed from the platform.

"It saddens me to see him because he mocks our singers. Some people genuinely consider him a singer," the Mitwa vocalist said.

"Some believe he is a singer, and even say that he has released a new song. For heaven’s sake, have a heart, he is making fun of music,” he added.

Shafqat Amanat furthered on, “I will blame my people, they love to watch this kind of entertainment. They need cheap entertainment, they appreciate a weird and ridiculous artist rather than a real one.”

He argued that society is increasingly glorifying people who engage in absurd activities. The singer warned that this trend could have negative consequences "if we continue to elevate the wrong people to celebrity status".

When asked about his favorite vocalist, the Tere Naina crooner maintained that there are many talented young singers excelling in their craft today, "it would be difficult to name them all."

Shafqat explained that he judges singers based on their talent, not on their popularity or online views.
