LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain was once again rushed to a hospital in London on Friday after a sudden decline in his health condition, party officials confirmed.
In an official statement posted on the MQM’s account on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the party said:
“The health of MQM founder and leader Altaf Hussain has deteriorated again, after which he has been taken to a local hospital. According to details released by the MQM Central Information Department, on Friday, Altaf Hussain’s health worsened again.”
According to the statement, an emergency medical team was dispatched to Hussain’s residence following a distress call.
The team provided initial treatment at his home before transferring him to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and care.

The MQM Coordination Committee appealed to the party’s supporters and the general public to pray for Altaf Hussain’s swift recovery. Senior London-based party leader Mustafa Azizabadi also confirmed the news via a post on X, reassuring supporters that the party would provide updates on Hussain’s condition as they become available.
This marks the second time in recent weeks that the exiled leader has been hospitalized.
Last month, he was admitted to a hospital in London following what the party described as a “severe illness,” during which he underwent several medical tests.
