Pakistani comedian Shakeel Siddiqui recently revealed that he received an offer to appear on the popular Indian reality show Bigg Boss. However, he declined the offer, explaining that the management was looking to create controversy, as he would have been the only Pakistani participant on the show.
Speaking on a podcast, Shakeel shared that the Bigg Boss team had earnestly requested him to join and assured him that all his demands would be met. Despite this, he hesitated to participate without familiar personalities, expressing that he preferred sharing the show with well-known celebrities rather than social media influencers. For the same reason, Shakeel also avoided joining the Pakistani reality show Tamasha.
He revealed that the Indian show’s management assured him he could act naturally on the show without being pressured by producers. The discussions even reached the final stage, with the management traveling to Dubai to meet him.
During the meeting, Shakeel raised concerns about being the only Pakistani on the show, which could lead to conflicts or problems in the house.
The management candidly admitted that they wanted such conflicts and controversies to boost the show’s popularity. This, however, did not sit well with Shakeel, and he decided to opt out.
He added that, although the team assured him that no one would bother him during the two months and that his payment demands would be met, the risk of controversy remained a concern.
Ultimately, Shakeel chose to stay away from the show, emphasising that he wanted to be recognised for his talent, not for being involved in controversies.
