Fawad Khan makes Bollywood comeback after nine years with ‘Abir Gulaal’ teaser release

Fawad Khan has officially returned to Bollywood after nine years, as the teaser for his upcoming Indian film Abir Gulaal was released on the second day of Eid. The film is set to hit cinemas on May 9.

The teaser, shared by Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor on Instagram, features the duo in an intimate car scene. In the clip, Fawad Khan hums the iconic 1942 song "Kuch Bhi Na Kaho", while Vaani Kapoor gazes at him romantically.

During the teaser, Vaani playfully asks Fawad if he is flirting with her, to which he responds by questioning whether she is doing the same. The short preview offers a glimpse of only two characters while confirming the film’s release date.

Although the filmmakers have not confirmed whether Abir Gulaal will be released in Pakistan, the movie is set for a worldwide theatrical release. 

The film’s storyline is described as, “This heartwarming tale unfolds in the picturesque streets of London, weaving a love story filled with unexpected turns, tender moments, and pure magic. Audiences can expect a delightful blend of laughter, tender moments, and the undeniable chemistry between Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor.”

Directed by Aarti S Bagri, who has previously helmed several Bollywood projects, Abir Gulal is produced by multiple production houses. Apart from Vaani Kapoor, most of the film's cast consists of Indian actors.

The storyline follows two individuals who selflessly help each other, only to unintentionally fall in love, leading to complications in their lives.

It is speculated that Fawad and Vaani’s characters may belong to different countries, regions, or ethnicities, though no official details have been revealed.

The film's ensemble cast includes Lisa Haydon, Riddhi Dogra, Farida Jalal, Soni Razdan, Parmeet Sethi, Rahul Vora, Amrit Sandhu, Sujoy De, and Dev Agrawal.
