Fawad Khan's latest supernatural television series, Barzakh, has sparked controversy after its third episode featured a scene promoting homosexuality.
The series, directed and written by Asim Abbasi, was launched on July 19 on the OTT platform Zee5 and the YouTube channel Zindagi.
The online drama stars Fawad Khan alongside Sanam Saeed and includes Khushhal Khan, Uzma Beg, and Salman Shahid as actors.
The scene in question features two men engaging in an intimate moment, which has sparked outrage among netizens who deem it against "Islamic teachings".
"This is beyond disgusting! Such LGBTQ content is being slowly infused in the entertainment industry. It will only harm our religious sentiments and norms," said a user in a post.
Another user criticised Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed for "promoting homosexuality and LGBTQ in Pakistan."

The Zindagi Gulzar Hai star had previously spoken about his discomfort with intimate scenes in a Bollywood movie, which was his debut in Indian cinema.
"See, doing intimate scenes is something I'm uncomfortable with right now... I've mentioned that a couple of times before as well. Because it will not appeal to the sensibilities of my audience back home," he said in a 2015 interview with Filmfare.
However, it seems the actor has changed his stance, leaving fans and critics alike questioning his decision.
The controversy has generated buzz online, with many calling for a boycott of the series.
Asim Abbasi, the director and writer of Barzakh, has not yet commented on the controversy.
Despite the backlash, the series remains available on Zee5 and Zindagi's YouTube channel.
