‘Fool me once’: Sarwat Gilani rules out return to ‘JPNA’ series

Actor Sarwat Gilani has confirmed that she will not be returning as Gul in the upcoming Jawani Phir Nahi Ani (JPNA) sequel, citing a lack of respect from the film’s team after production ended.

Speaking to critic Maliha Rehman, Gilani said while she admired director Nadeem Baig, writer Vasay Chaudhry, and co-star Humayun Saeed, their treatment of her after filming JPNA 2 left her “disheartened.” She recalled booking her tickets for the film’s London promotions but never receiving confirmation from the team.

“I felt disrespected once their work was done,” she said, adding that her character was sidelined in both films without a proper ending. “I will not compromise on self-respect. Fool me once, but you can’t do it again,” she remarked.

Gilani said she is now focused on her upcoming drama Biryani, calling it an exciting new challenge.
