Hamza Ali Abbasi, a renowned Pakistani actor, has a massive fan base of 1.1 million followers on Instagram. He rose to fame for his debut performance in the popular television series Pyare Afzal. Some of his other popular television serials include Mann Mayal, Alif, Meray Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley, Jaan-e-Jahan, among many others.

Abbasi involves himself regularly in different aspects except for acting, as he gives opinions on social, political, and religious matters, and this time around, he talks about the Blasphemy law in Pakistan.

Recently, Hamza Ali Abbasi took to his Instagram and X and posted a video statement on the recent blasphemy laws and cases.

“I want to present some suggestions to you. Recently, Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza shared horrific details about what is happening to blasphemy prisoners in jails, details that can shock anyone with a sane mind.”

Hamza also stated that “these facts often come to light during cases and official documentation, and it is important to talk about this issue. I know you may think it is a secondary matter, but I believe we need to discuss it. Other issues are not directly related to Allah and are dealt with leniency, but issues like blasphemy are dealt with through harsh punishments.”

Abbasi, as an Islamic follower who started following Islam more evidently in the past few years, took the case in light of the religion. He said, “ As a Muslim, I believe that whatever cruelty is done in the name of Allah carries severe consequences. The blasphemy laws in Pakistan are extremely harsh. We cannot achieve success, prosperity, or progress as a nation if such laws remain unchecked. Normal laws have room for relaxation, but blasphemy laws impose excessively severe punishments. This is why many of our other problems remain unresolved—because in Pakistan, cruelties are committed in the name of Allah. If we abandon or properly control these laws, perhaps we can flourish.”
